If you have read my long you know that I was taking a PCT course, which is similar to a CNA, but a little higher. Well I graduated in late April and followed up with my CNA in June. I was sooo nervous to take my CNA so many people were failing, but I passed! GO me! So as soon as I got my CNA I started looking for a job in the hospital. (Most hospitals here require you to be a CNA AND A PCT) So I searched and searched and applied and applied. I had my first interview on the neuroscience floor and that went well I was nervous as usual. I was only interviewed by one person at this one (by the nurse manager). She told me if I made it into the top candidates she would call me back. A couple weeks passed and I still hadn't heard anything so I was a little discouraged. I had applied at other places/depts while waiting though. Then I got a call from the nurse manager from the oncology (cancer) floor who wanted to have an interview with me. So we scheduled one and I went. This time though, I was interviewed by FOUR women. (yikes!) Of course I was nervous, because I wasn't expecting that! The interview went well though. At the end of it she walked me out and told me she would finish up the rest of the interviews that week and would call me on Mon to let me know if I got it or not. So I went home feeling good. AND what do you know?! They called me back from the FIRST interview I had and invited me to the second interview! So I was excited and schedlued an interview for that coming thursday. I was feeling awesome!
So as the weekend passed Monday morning came. I was working on some school work, just waiting for THAT call. I saw the name come up from the lady on the oncology floor answered within the first ring i'm sure (LOL) and she let me know I got the job! I was extatic! I thanked her! She said that they all loved meeting me and that I was a wonderful peroson for the postion. So after that of course I had to call the lady from the neuroscience floor and let her know that I just got offered a job so I would not be going to that second interview. She congratulated me.
So I got a job, at the hospital. This is my dream! Working at the hospital. Of course I want to be an RN and get my BSN, but it's safe to say I am working at where I am going to retire! Now how many 20 years old do you know that can say that?
